Here are some answers to some questions that are frequently asked of Spine Fine’s Chiropractors and allied Soft Tissue Therapists

This really depends on what problem you present to our clinic with. Chiropractic treatment is as safe as other mainstream manual therapies and suitable for most people (including new-born babies, older people, and pregnant women and sports enthusiasts). Once you are back at your best, we’ll help you stay healthy too, offering massage, Chiropractic care if you feel the need and tips on exercise and lifestyle to avoid slipping back in to bad habits.
Probably, it will depend on the specifics of your case. Always take your GP’s advice. You not need a GP’s referral to try chiropractic care for yourself though and we’d be happy to discuss your case before you speak to them.
Your first session, your ‘consultation’, should take about 30 minutes, (with a similar amount of time set aside to deal with a ‘report of findings’ to give you feedback and plan your care). Future treatments sessions are shorter, however if you require a longer appointment this can be discussed and arranged. As you’d expect, the number of sessions you need will vary according to your condition and prognosis. There’s more information on this website that may help answer this point more fully, but you can always call us for a chat.
Surgery is a very invasive procedure and it’s best to leave it as only a last resort. At Spine Fine, we have helped thousands of patients avoid surgery and relieve their back pain and neck pain conditions. The majority of our patients remain pain-free and are able to live active lifestyles.
Your recovery is dependent on many factors. Inevitably, these include the nature of your problem and the length of time you have had it. However, the degree to which you are able to keep to rehabilitative exercises and maintenance visits will make a difference as does the skill of your therapists. At Spine Fine our Chiropractor’s and Sort Tissue Therapist are very experienced and work together to get the best from your investment in health. You can be rest assured, we never recommend unnecessary treatment.
This depends on the problem, on average, you will probably need 4-6 visits during the first two or three weeks period, reducing, going forward, as you improve.
Certainly, in fact Chiropractic could help prevent further surgery and relieve the pain or discomfort that may still be felt a year or more after surgery.
As a general rule, Chiropractic treatment, when carried out correctly, by a qualified practitioner, is not painful. However, as your body gets accustomed to the positive changes that the therapy is bringing, slight discomfort after sessions is not uncommon. Soreness quickly subsides however and brings significant benefits. Your Chiropractor will advise you on how to reduce any discomfort you may feel and can advise on a number of remedies to try at home.
All chiropractors in the UK are trained to a very high standard, it takes 4-5 years to qualify at University with a B.Sc. (hons) degree in Chiropractic. All Chiropractors must be legally registered with the General Chiropractic council who ensures they are suitable to practice by maintaining a high standard of continued professional development and that they are adequately insured to practice.
The largest professional body representing Chiropractors is the British Chiropractic Association. You can find out more about these bodies and the profession of Chiropractic from their websites:

At the present time, anyone can call themselves a massage therapist in the UK since the profession is unregulated. However, you should only expect the best from Spine Fine.  Our Remedial/Soft Tissue Therapists are professionals at degree level and qualified in fields of expertise such as Sport Therapy.  They work in collaboration with and under the clinical direction of our Chiropractors – to provide you with the best possible extended care.

Our Soft Tissue Therapist provide invaluable care for patients, promoting natural healing (in tandem with Chiropractic care) as well as calming, relaxing, stand-alone massage therapies for stressed and over-tired muscles.

Many patients now see our massage therapists between scheduled Chiropractic appointments to extend general flexibility, or in parallel to maximise their investment, well-being and quality of life.
